stupid ventrilo

Postby Rasantath » Fri May 13, 2011 3:33 pm

ok so most people know that i've been having vent problems with disconnecting FREQUENTLY for a few weeks now (2-3 times an hour, minimum). (and so has ari since we use the same isp)

so i did a traceroute using a program called WinMTR (it does it every second), and i let it run for 10 minutes.
http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/winmtr_portable

our vent server is 173.199.64.243. i'm not sure where its based out of.

<table border="1" align="center">
<tr><td>Host</td> <td>%</td> <td>Sent</td> <td>Recv</td> <td>Best</td> <td>Avrg</td> <td>Wrst</td> <td>Last</td></tr>
<tr><td>my local router</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 18</td> <td> 0</td></tr>
<tr><td>7.9.44.1</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 6</td> <td> 8</td> <td> 27</td> <td> 11</td></tr>
<tr><td>gw01.mtth.phub.net.cable.rogers.com</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 7</td> <td> 11</td> <td> 31</td> <td> 10</td></tr>
<tr><td>69.63.249.214</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 6</td> <td> 11</td> <td> 39</td> <td> 39</td></tr>
<tr><td>64.71.241.93</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 10</td> <td> 14</td> <td> 41</td> <td> 36</td></tr>
<tr><td>69.63.249.242</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 24</td> <td> 33</td> <td> 125</td> <td> 25</td></tr>
<tr><td>162.97.119.153</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 601</td> <td> 24</td> <td> 34</td> <td> 68</td> <td> 39</td></tr>
<tr><td>po6.ar6.AMS2.gblx.net</td> <td> 3</td> <td> 541</td> <td> 526</td> <td> 25</td> <td> 121</td> <td> 553</td> <td> 128</td></tr>
<tr><td>64.211.192.114</td> <td> 6</td> <td> 494</td> <td> 467</td> <td> 103</td> <td> 138</td> <td> 427</td> <td> 127</td></tr>
<tr><td>64.211.192.114</td> <td> 36</td> <td> 250</td> <td> 161</td> <td> 0</td> <td> 118</td> <td> 490</td> <td> 109</td></tr>
<tr><td>173.199.64.243</td> <td> 14</td> <td> 394</td> <td> 342</td> <td> 126</td> <td> 136</td> <td> 204</td> <td> 126</td></tr>
</table>

and look where it dies... right before the vent server itself. there is a tiny bit of packet loss at global crossing (gblx.net, they are the ISP for ISP's)
64.211.192.114, the 2nd last hop, is ALSO owned by gblx also according to WHOIS.

how does the traceroute look for the rest of you? esp those of you in the NE US. does it take somewhat similar number of hops (that being 11)? is there any packet loss for you at all?
